I think I'd certainly take a look at the heater core in the new cab before I put any sound/heat barrier and carpet in it.
My 83 has a factory bolt in 4wd hump
I would like to find a bolt in hump rather than cut the one out of the old cab. I would like to try to sell the old cab cheap to someone who may want to repair it. I dunno but if I include all the repair panels I got for it I would let it go for $400.00 with the panels. The panels cost around $350.00 and it is a savable cab. But not if I cut out half of the floor to get the hump from it.
Or you could do it your self and then it sell it as a mint cab. I really haven't seen very many with the bolt in hump over the years and I was really surprised to find one on my 83 so it might take some time to find one but if you do then you have saved a cab!
I just found an 82 Chevy 3500 wrecker the guy says its a bolt in hump for a 4 speed so we will see. I have to look to see if it will fit or can be modified to fit. As far as fixing the old cab....Yeah I could fix it and then sell it but I really don't want to do that work.
Yep a 3500 cab is the same
The same as in you believe the bolt in hump from the 82 3500 cab will go into the 84 low hump cab I have? Obviously I need to do some cutting tho. I will have to review the cab info and pics I have. Or just go look at it.
