Well all my cab repair parts arrived the day after I brought a new cab home. I looked and looked for a cab then gave up and ordered them. Thats luck!

Doing some clean up. Looks like it was just in time for the passenger side too. Gonna be doing some sand blasting on this one.

I think I'd certainly take a look at the heater core in the new cab before I put any sound/heat barrier and carpet in it.

For sure! Also I don't use sound or heat barrier in my trucks for just this reason. That way I can easily remove all the floor coverings and keep an eye on things under there. The floors always seem to get moisture trapped between that stuff here. It gets a little warm in the summer but thats what the floor vents are for.

My 83 has a factory bolt in 4wd hump

I would like to find a bolt in hump rather than cut the one out of the old cab. I would like to try to sell the old cab cheap to someone who may want to repair it. I dunno but if I include all the repair panels I got for it I would let it go for $400.00 with the panels. The panels cost around $350.00 and it is a savable cab. But not if I cut out half of the floor to get the hump from it.

Or you could do it your self and then it sell it as a mint cab. I really haven't seen very many with the bolt in hump over the years and I was really surprised to find one on my 83 so it might take some time to find one but if you do then you have saved a cab!

I just found an 82 Chevy 3500 wrecker the guy says its a bolt in hump for a 4 speed so we will see. I have to look to see if it will fit or can be modified to fit. As far as fixing the old cab....Yeah I could fix it and then sell it but I really don't want to do that work.

The same as in you believe the bolt in hump from the 82 3500 cab will go into the 84 low hump cab I have? Obviously I need to do some cutting tho. I will have to review the cab info and pics I have. Or just go look at it.

GM used the exact same cab for 1/2, 3/4, 1, 3 and 5 ton trucks.

The hump will fit guaranteed!

Obviously you will need to cut the 2wd but just use the bolt in hump as a template and then cut 1 1/2"-2" inside that so that you have a lip to bolt the hump too. Its pretty simple aside from the labor involved.

Yeah cutting one in should be a piece of cake. I am just trying to find a hump that will go in without too much modification. I see in this link there were changes over the years.

So I want to find one that will drop right in the cab I have seen below. as well as be able to use the vinyl floor mat I have out of a 76 high hump truck. It wouldn't fit my 87 high hump properly.

80' was the year that things changed.

73-79 are the same and 80 is a bit unique and then 81-87 are the same. So if its an 82 you will be fine
