I was told I could replace my crappy stock bayonet wiper arms on my 84 Chevy K10 with wiper arms from a 2001 Jeep XJ.

Does anybody know if this is true? I found a jeep Cherokee I can pull the wiper arms off of for $10. But I googled it and apparently an XJ is a Cherokee and not a Wrangler like I assumed. Does anybody have any experience with this? I would like to know because I hate the bayonet wiper arms.

I had this thought the other day also. As much as I like the factory wiper arms I was wondering if someone made hook style arms I could swap to.

In the 70's and early 80's the wiper arms where straight with a small button that locks the wiper blade on, weak design, wipers were known to fly off. In the mid 80's chevy went to a 90 degree hook design, much better. And they are interchangeable.

Was going to say the same. I think 84 or 85. My 83 still has the old straight style.

Can you provide more information? Links, part numbers, etc.

Thank you.

Checked this out and these were started in 85 according to auto parts website. Have not physically checked them out yet, but I would prefer the hook style that a lot of newer vehicles have. Have not had any issues with hook style on my other vehicles. If there is a direct fit hook style replacement would be great for me. Also, I do not need the washer hose in any of them.

85 and up is the years for the pin style, pretty much as good as the j hook style. I upgraded my 84 and they work great, the arms from lmc are good, but the squirters are kind of junk.

Wait... So I could have just ordered wiper arms for a slightly later year truck and they would have worked?? My 84 has the bayonet style arms and I can't stand them.

Actually I went to rock Auto and looked at the 85-87 model and they had the pin style. I don't like those at all either.

I ordered a set off eBay for a 2001 jeep Cherokee. I'll let everyone know if they work

Go to JEGS.COM. I got replacement wiper arms for my 1976 K10 for 14.95 each. I'm sure they're not that expensive for an '84.
