I am going to be installing a remote mount trans cooler from Derale on my truck
It is an 89 r3500 with a th400

I am wanting to locate it under the truck to remove heat load from the front.

Is anyone else doing this and where have you mounted yours?

This is the unit I have

Here is the manufactures product page

It is a 8+8 stacked for 16 pass tube and fin cooler with a shroud and a 650cfm electric fan

I did an under truck mount on my M1031 but it had a flatbed. It had a 700R4 and the extra cooling is a must for that transmission. I used that same Derale cooler.

Did you run that cooler stand alone or inline with the radiator cooler?
How did your temps look?
Do you have any images of how you mounted it?

I ran lines as a stand alone although it isn't recommended to do so. I do not know what the exact temperature was but it was cool enough to touch with a bare hand. I mounted it with a frame and hung it just below the flatbed.
