Decisions Decisions!

I’m trying to decide what color to paint the rally wheels on my 81 GMC. I had originally planned to just go back with the factory Argent silver, but my son suggested black. I immediately dismissed his thoughts as foolish and juvenile, but now I’m reconsidering. I’d hate to admit that maybe he has the right idea and the old man isn’t always right!!

Does anyone have painted rally wheels? How about some pics?

Question number 2: how much tire will fit on the front of a stock suspension 2wd truck? The wheels are 15x8 if I remember correctly. I’m using 275/60R15 on the rear. I would like something the same height, but maybe just a bit narrrower.

Not the right size. But I like black rallies with just the center cap.

I've always liked color matched rallies, with the trim rings and centercaps mounted too. I always liked them done in black too, but I have avoided it in recent years. It seems like everyone in the last 15 years has spray painted their wheels black, whether it be steelies or factory aluminum wheels.

Imho, a 255/60 is a good match for the front.

Cool thing about rally wheels…

If you paint them any color other than argent silver and decide you don’t like it, just repaint them again.

I went with a metallic blue as a teenager way back in the 1900’s to add a splash of color to my truck. Did them the exact same color this time.
