Got a new set of rubber body and radiator support bushings. LMC shows them to be installed like this -

Other sites show them like this -

Pretty certain the LMC diagram is correct, even though the washer doesn't fit inside that top bushing. Ok, its been about 5 yrs since I took everything apart - from what I think to be true, bushing #5 slips over the bottom of #4? If thats so, how do you get it to fit? This is rubber on rubber and I cant get it to go on even with dry lube. Tried to use washers and a bolt to compress it on but that wont go either.

Any secret way to do this?

THX

Maybe match how they come apart? OOPS! Just read the bottom text. Hopefully somebody doing body panel swapping can get some pics for you

And that isn't even correct...I looked for sheet metal mounting at the core support but didn't find anything.

I have seen the older (original) mounts - the top half was metal and the bottom half slipped over it (on the underside of the bracket). These are all rubber and simply do not fit. I put a pair in a 20T press and they wouldn't go.

Want nothing to do with poly - might just use my originals. They weren't in bad shape. UFB.

The LMC diagram is correct.

That is for the “P” chassis, like step vans.

That was the only diagram in the entire manual that I could find. Disappointing.

Glad you confirmed which setup is correct for him. I was going to crawl under my truck and see if I could get a decent pic of those to share.

What I kind of figured out was....the originals' bottom (top half) were bare metal - these are rubber.....coated. I used an elongated burr-ball and removed about half the rubber coating on the base (that was originally bare metal) and although snug, they now fit like the originals.

Everything has to be an issue with this truck.

So here’s my question, I have put mine together just like the picture and the washer 6 bottoms out against bushing 4 and doesn’t allow the radiator support to snug up so it moves back and forth about 2 or 3 inches.
