putting in air conditioner

so buddy of mine passed away from cancer and his wife gifted me his old truck that sat for years and years well i put a lot of time and money into fixing this beast up and its an awsome truck now ,, its a 75 c25 camper special with a 454 in it and its got the edelbrock performer top end and headers and its just a really fun truck,, when i got the truck it had a york ac zcxuu system that just sucked ass and i live in lake havasu so its hot here and what i did was i purchased a ac system out of a 79 gmc k25 ,, it has the entire ac system so i figured would just go right in but ive already noticed a few differences like the heater core being on the opposite side of the box so had to mac geyver that **** in there but its in now my question is on how to mount the compressor to the 454 big block .. its the longer compressor and she gave me all the brackets as well im just stumped on where they go cause the truck they came from had the 400 motor in it and mine has the 454 so ive got everything else put in i just need some help with the compressor is all ..

Your going to have to find brackets and pulleys from a big block that had that compressor.

Or replace that compressor with a sanden/sanden style compressor and use some aftermarket brackets. Alan Grove components makes the for the long water pump and short water pump.

The big, long heavy compressor is the A6, and they often fail and contaminate the entire system with black granules. It’s usually best to dump it.
Two options I suggest:
-Pro6ten, which is a Sanden that is repackaged as an exact replacement for the A6. However, you will still need the mounting brackets you are searching for.
- use a Sanden and mounting brackets from Vintage Air or Alan Grove. Either have custom hoses made, or use adapters on the Sanden so your old hoses will fit (I’ve never tried the adapters myself)

General process
- Make sure you use a new orifice tube (cheap item) and a new filter/drier(also called an accumulator ).
- Use new o-rings for R134 in all fittings. They are usually green.
- Use A/C flush to clean the evaporator, condenser, and hoses.
- New compressor will come preloaded with PAG oil. Add PAG oil in recommended amounts to the evaporator and condenser.
- vacuum to 29-30” for at least 30 minutes to pull out moisture, and recharge to about 75-80% of the amount of R12 recommended for your system.

Charge it yourself - Vacuum will make the first can of 134 pull in right away, and then it stops. Start the vehicle and then you can jumper the low pressure switch to make the compressor run with a low charge, and it will pull in the rest of the R134.
Best choice for an accurate amount of R134 - find an A/C shop to recharge it.

PAG is a a corrosive and will take out your evaporator. Only use an Ester oil in a retro-fit system.
