I'm in the process of lowering my 76 GMC C15. I went with Western Chassis 3" lowering coils in the front. Western Chassis 4" lowering leaf spring and 1" lowering shackles. At this time what I like is you use the stock height shocks with their relocation shock kits. Also, you don't have to C-notch the frame. Plenty of distance from the rear bump stops. I should be finished soon. Looks like I'll will have a 3"/5" drop when all said and done.

I am curious about the drop springs vs flipping the axle.

I have already purchased the 3" drop leaf springs for a '87 GMC short step but have been getting the rest of the truck squared around.

Where are you in Goodyear? I am up the hill.

I am off the 303 and Indian School Rd. One issue I am having is the front shocks. Western Classis suggest using their front shock relocation kit with the 3" lowering coil springs. Also, to use a stock shock length. A stock shock is around 14" plus. With the relocation kit the shock needs to be around 18" long. With the lowering coil it doesn't raise the lower control arm with the suspension hanging in the air. I will have to call them tomorrow. Never easy!

Update. I got a hold of Western Classis. The guy on the phone is a Jack!!! Was told to us the stock shocks. Don't install them until the front wheels are on the ground. That should happen tomorrow.

Ended up going with 3" lowering coils and 4" lowering springs and shackles. Also got a new set of shoes. 235/70/15 fronts and 275/60/15 rear. Sitting about 1" higher out back I like the way it looks and rides nice.

If you want tire at or under lip of fender well I would recommend flipping and c-notch the frame. You can get leaf springs redone to whatever height you need and not expensive.

So glad I didn't flip my axle. With over a 1k of payload, rides like a dream! Also just got a new 2 1/2" dual exhaust system installed.

Truck looks nice. Hope to see it in person one day. I'm at 303 and Cactus.

I chose to flip my son's axle by welding on new perches. It's a bit less than 6" drop and should ride/ tow/ haul well with stock rate springs. Shackles weren't an option as they would hit the bed floor on my son's application.

I haven't had the best of luck dealing with POL/ Western Chassis when it comes to shipping, customer service. I find it better to order their products via Summit.

They have horrible customer service. They are the same company as POL. They have a bad reputation of sending out kits with only half the pieces and then telling you they are shipping the rest in a week. In my case, I bought a big brake kit w/ drop spindles for my Impala. They mailed the spindles and then said the rotors were on the way. So I installed the spindles. Rotors came a month later. Calipers came 2 months later. They never shipped the lines, misc brackets, etc. This was a $2500 kit. Now I try not to buy any of their parts, but if I do, Summit so that they can deal with them.

A guy from CPP told me the number one complaint they hear is that people think they are the same company as POL/ Western Chassis as they are both pretty close to each other.
