Just a quick question concerning power steering gear box on my C30 dually. Will the steering box from like a C20 or even C10 interchange? For instance will a box of a 1/2 ton bolt on and work correctly on my dually? All i find on the internet is conflicting info.

I used a box from a K5 just switched the output shaft. The c30 drove the same and the box's looked the same inside and out.

Good advice 75gmck25.

Same same or it might not work, 4wd vs 2wd of any of the older pre-90's model years.
The Pittman arms can vary as well, so do your research at Rock Auto before you buy.

Off Road Designs sells the best of the best USA replacements.

In this day and age, you might have to bite the bullet and order a quality unit to get a good replacement that will last a few years.

Man I'm sad to write that.

Yah, you might have to buy adapters and switch the lines with custom fittings.

Swapped the power steering unit to use a 1981 Camero small block pump mount on my 1994 block with Vortec heads with headers.

Had to switch the tank screw line fittings pump side, to continue to use the metric o-ring OEM lines on my steering gear.
The old school 1981 P/S unit which clocked a bit towards the water neck, was what would fit with a custom 1/4 fab plate to the head.

I found a couple donor P/S units and when I re-sealed & re-bushed a known good 1981 Camero pump, the internal threads from my 1987 and 1999 GM pumps, did match, despite the external fittings going to metric o-rings.

YMMV
