So I’m considering switching the doors on my dually from power to manual. My question is what are the differences in the doors other than the hole where the manual crank comes through? I’m wondering if I can just modify my power doors to be accept the manual regulator. In the end, I’m tired of the constant attention these power windows require even when using OEM equipment so I’m looking at easier to maintain solutions that don’t make me want to eat glass and drink gasoline.

the doors are the same, just use the manual regulator and door panels.

Yes it's an easy swap. Just find a donor.
Will you be keeping the power locks?

Also the door panel will need a hole for the crank.

I'd buy a new regulator for the driver's side at least. The salvaged passenger one from a donor is probably fine, but the driver's will be worn out. You know, who's isn't?

So the metal door itself is identical with the exception of the hole where the manual regulator comes through? That’s awesome news!!

definitiely. The hard part is going to be finding the manual regulators for the rear doors I think. I might have to source some good used ones.

Rock auto has new regulators both power and manual for decent prices, I think even front or rear doors. I just ordered up a pair of new power ones for mine.

Yeah, I knew they had the power for both front and back but hadn’t had a chance to go back and check for rear manual regulators yet. But I will sometime today :)

Just double checked and the only regulators they have (manual or power) are for the front. Looks like I’ll have to source something used

Oops sorry. I went back and looked again, I must have missed them only having front regulators but saw the motors listed as front and rear.

Even checked LMC for burb rear door regulators, they sell everything except for the regulator itself but they do have parts to refresh old regulators. (I don't know if I'd trust LMC regulators to be honest)

There are probably some decent manual ones in yards. Let me know of you can't find any and I'll add them to my "be on the lookout for" list around here.

Yeah, the motors can go with any door. I’m currently reaching out to any and all my loca contacts to see what I can find for the rear doors. Once found then I can refresh them like you pointed out :)

if you do run across some keep me in mind :waytogo: if I find some I’ll try and update this thread
