This is the second time in two weeks my driveshaft has knocked out the caps in the u joint and fallen out at speeds. I've experienced drive line vibratuion for a while. I assumed it was the transmission because that's on its way out. But to me the only explanation is my driveshaft is bent and it's shaking out the caps. Im not sure what to do. Please help.

It doesn't look bent but idk. The vibrations are speed sensitive. I'm thinking it could be the pinions bent, or the bushing in the tailshaft of the t case is toast. Both times it spit the driveshaft it spit the rear u joint which is a conversion u joint.

Called a driveline shop shop and they don't think it's a bent driveshaft. But I'm not sure if my shaft is even savable. The end is scraped up pretty good and chip'd a small piece maybe a 1/4 in. out into the recess for the clip.

Your driveshaft yoke may have gotten installed the wrong way causing a vibration, and I would probably get a new driveshaft if you've lost it driving a couple of times, since it's all nicked up and could possibly be dented, you could have lost a weight off the driveshaft even, that's just me though

All of the weights are still there. I put another u joint in and new set of straps and bolts. I'm driving but the vibrations are still there. Thinking about getting it balanced Saturday. Transfer case output is good and tight, no wobble there. Pinion yoke on axle is fine too. Don't know what else it could be

No leaks? And did you clock the yoke right on the driveshaft?

No leaks. Buttttt I didn't know you could put it on incorrectly?... Which yoke are you referring to? Like the pinion yoke?

I'll be the first to admit I'm an idiot if I can learn from it. But did I install my lift blocks backwards?..

I am confused. Is it shearing the straps and bolts right off the yoke??? It should give you plenty of warning before throwing a shaft out like that. Maybe the straps holding the caps aren't tight enough and stretched? Do you have the c-clips installed on the inner side of the u-joint caps? That should keep them from slipping through the hold down straps?

No it has the proper clips but there is a serious vibration coming from the driveline. I got new straps the last time it came out. Oh and they're tight.

In the picture on the left, is the other end of the driveshaft in the transmission?
