Picked up a new ride

I had been looking for a truck for the last year with the intent on finding something to tow the boat and use for other things that you need a truck for. I also wanted something cool and affordable that I could tinker with. I wasn't loyal to any brand but have missed having a cool ride in the garage. In the past I have had a 67 Plymouth Fury wagon, 68 Chrysler 300 convertible, and my favorite was a 70 Ford Torino Cobra with a 429CJ. Kids and mortgages happened so the toys were sacrificed. I looked at several trucks from Ford, Dodge, GM and even an International. Finding something with little rust on it in upstate NY is a pretty tall order but I picked up a 84 C10 in really nice shape. It's a 2wd with 8' bed. I'll post up a few pics in another message. It has a replacement Goodwrench 350 engine with a 700R4 automatic. My intent is run through the mechanical systems and get it road worthy. It's tucked away in my garage now as I finish up some house projects before winter and chase kids all over the area for the fall sports season. My goal is to have it road worthy in the spring, ideally for the opening day of Watkins Glen so I can go run a few laps on the track.

ok its been years since i posted on here. I traded that white short for a motorcycle and had a lot of fun on it! bikes gone now.

I really missed posting and hanging out on this site with you all, so i went and got another square so i can participate lol (too painful seeing all your trucks and not having my own lol) ill get some pics posted asap... its a 78 stepside c10 with a 350 front break is frozen, looks like someone gave it a love tap on the left rear, besides that, its pretty clean, i drove it off the trailer and into my garage, with the wheel grabbing and leaving a streak into the garage lol

Welcome from AZ. Thats a really good find in New York! I live in the best place in the country to find rust free cars and somehow I still have trouble finding them lol. I bought two Novas this week cause when I got my first one home I found hidden frame rust and then figured out it was from Chicago! At least they were kind enough to leave that newspaper in the trunk to let me know where its from. I don't know why but almost every old Chevy I buy has a newspaper stuffed somewhere that tells me a little about its history.
