PERMATEX BLACK ADHESIVE SEALANT

Hey fellas, I'm about to replace the intake manifold on my 1984 Chevy 350. All cleaned up and ready to go. I like to use Fel Pro gaskets, so I'll be installing their intake port gaskets, but not the little rubber piece for the front and rear bottom of the intake manifold. Last time I did this I used the Permatex Black Adhesive Sealant in those locations without issues (15 years on the block no leak ). I've now read the Permatex packaging and it says not for gasket use. Can I use this, if not what else that is black. Silicone is difficult to paint. Would anyone care to join in here. My go to is permatex's the right stuff. They should have a black rtv gasket maker.

I like Permatex Ultra Black, it works great and I don’t read the packaging.

A long time ago, one of my service calls was Permatex in Solon OH where they make and package all the different RTV colors and product. Employees there told me, "Ultra Black" was the best, not sure why but would think they would know.

Thanks guys! There is an old song lyric "black is black", not true. After reading all of your post I went to one of my cabinets and found an almost exhausted tube of "ultra black." I bought this new tube looking at the color, and not how it is designed. Going to get the real mccoy Ultra Black tomorrow. Thank you all for your time, ..................................Charlie

Well I haven't gotten my baby back, yet, but I'll have her running in a day or two. It's grey it's grey , what can I do? I was feelin' ULTRA BLUE , but I'll buy the black as you can't paint silicone. Thanks again for your help.
