He has been having fun with it.
Continually fiddling and tweeking on it.

@monsterC10 needs to come in here and post some updates on the things he has done and is doing.

Last weekend was C10 day at the local Cars & Coffee, even though it rained we had a good time.
Truck gang headed to the show with Max in his '49, Paul in his '72, and me following up in the '79.

I took photos of the other trucks, not my own.
So here are a couple of screenshots of our junk at the meet.

Since my brother is lame and hasn't been keeping up on this, here I am with updates for heem...

This truck came with some old school fog lights on it that looked terrible attached to the top of the bumper.
Plus one was bashed and garbage, so a while ago he removed them....

Much better at his house next to the daily rides...

I don't have the photos of them, but he installed a set of fresh tinted cab lights.

Now Paul is good with the wood work as well.
He wanted a console with cupholders, so he made one for the truck.
Also you can see the new fresh steering wheel he picked up for it in there...

The engine didn't have a coolant collection tank, so it would just mark its territory occasionally.
He found one on the Amazon and ordered it up.
It accents the fantastic paint work that De'Jesus did on the engine bay...

Now, the tires on this truck are 20 years old.
Loads of tread left on them, but old.
He wants to lower the truck eventually and the standard black D window wheels hafta go.

Holley was having a closeout sale or something and he picked up these excellent wheels for just under $100 a wheel...

They are 18 or 19 inch wheels, I don't remember.
And they are wide for good contact patch.
I think he plans on 275's and 295's for it....

He would have had tires on it already, but his daily needed new tires and thems aren't cheap.

Now with the new console he couldn't leave things alone.
He pulled the seat and carpet to find that things are pretty good under there.

Note the sweet, sweet bookshelf speakers that were placed under the seat for tuneage...

The seat was stripped of the covers and old foam.

Broken springs on the corner drivers side are given.

The photos of the repair and recovering of the seat with new foam and a cool fresh seat cover didn't come through to be saved.
So perhaps he will come in and add them in a later post...

Wait!
I do have a photo of the seat bottom all finished and waiting to go in.

I sat in the truck last weekend when I was over there and with the new foam in the seat, my hair touches the roof.
He is looking to lower the seat itself in the near future for more clearance.

Over Memorial day we called to troops together to come out to the junkyard to help adopt a L-31 350 for the truck.
Paul on the left, Aaron on the right, and Max under the sub that was chosen to give up its well seasoned engine.

Max feels good about this one...

Nobody knows what Jake was doing, but the 298k engine is out and ready to go up to the truck bed.

Last weekend I finally got over there with the cherry picker and pulled the engine out of the bed of his truck.
Bolted a stand to it and that is where we are currently.

Plans for the engine are AFR Enforcer heads and something around a Comp 268 roller camshaft for motivation.
Along with bigger headers and exhaust it should make for a fun to drive machine.

Not sure about the transmission just yet, the Turbo 350 might stay for a bit as it works just fine and be replaced by a 4L60 or 80 at a later date.
We did pick up a B&M floor shifter for it at the swap meet to help make it fun to shift.

He sent these to me last night.

You can also see that the truck has lost the goofy angled mirrors that you can't see anything in.
New sport mirrors are getting mounted up soon.

Now he is looking forward to installing a lowering kit to hunker the truck down over those fresh wheels and tires.

Love this old truck and it's colors, takes me back when my Dad had his just like this. Thanks for sharing.
So my brother is wicked color blind.
Like they have those special glasses that correct it, but he is extra special to the point that those don't work for him.
Like 1% of the people that have it kinda special.
He only wore black and white tee shirts growing up and hated the box of crayons that had 64 in it.

So his greens are blue to him.
He knows it is green cause I told him so.
His eventual plan I believe is to have it painted all dark blue...

And yes, I still enjoy making fun of him and his vision like any kid brother should.

New dash pad, under carpet sound dampener, new glove box insert, fixed the defroster vents, and I'm working on the new door panels and headliner. It's a much nicer place to sit even though the seat is very tall with the new foam!

I'm thinking it'll be a 2.5 front and 4 inch rear drop (at least that's what should work without body work). The rims are 19x8.5 front and 19x10 rear with 255 and 275s, and the front will rub at about 3.5 inches.

How much quieter is it now that you have put the sound deadener all across the floor?
Those photos did not come through when you sent them to me....
