Hello. New to the forum and I have a question about parts manuals. Ideally I am looking for a parts manual for a 1986 chevy c10 regular cab 2WD. Basic parts explosions of all things on the vehicle. I already have downloaded several service manuals and unit manuals. Anybody have a link to something downloadable and free?

Not sure if we have it for an 86, but there are many literature and GM manuals, diagrams and such in the Squarebody Library section. If we don't have 86, 85 should be very close, 87 won't be close on some things due to 87 being the first year of TBI aka Throttle Body Injection.

Plenty of other help here too otherwise. What exactly are you looking for right now?

As I have never had a response to this question but have continued to look for parts and illustration catalogs, I finally located a thread that had a working download link. The illustrations are great. Hopefully helps someone else.

Am I really part of a forum if the tree falls in the woods and I do not hear it?

Glad you found them. I've noticed too, some of those links don't work any longer. Just about anything Photobucket is gone now if our software didn't convert it. That being due to photobucket going on some ridiculous charges for 3rd party hosting and most didn't go for it. Of course phorobucket regrets that now, but a bit to late.

This helped me a bunch. This was the reason I singed up, so I could get an exploded parts view. I appreciate your help.

You may also like the following webpage. It helped me to figure out many different parts numbers. The funny thing is I now know my truck is a complete Frankenstein of parts spanning from the early 70's all the way to 87. I am not helping either as I am also modifying and installing parts that work and look better.

This webpage is great because you can find out if your parts numbers were discontinued and what was the replacement number. Then the pages are out of the parts and illustration catalogs that you can download off the above link.

This website helped me to find out my 1987 diesel truck, that now has a 1975 350, sitting on a 1978 frame with a 12 bolt rear end out of some other vehicle (still searching).

I also used the website to cleanup my engine bay. I had wires going to parts that were not being used (both mechanical and electrical). I would take a photo, search the part number, figure out what system it was from and then repair or remove. I cleaned out a lot of useless crap left by the previous truck butcher (slang for owner).

Most of the time I was correct but it makes you a lot more confident when you clearly identify everything prior to removing and altering.

Happy fixing, sometimes frustrating but ultimately satisfying.
