part ID & smog pump removal

Iirc, the original routing has coolant plumbed from front of intake, to tbi adapter, then out of tbi adapter to heater core. It's basically just run inline with the heater core.

I don't remember why, but I bypassed the adapter when I swapped in a replacement engine into my '90. It's plumbed like so:

Yep, that's what I plan to do. Want to replace unknown age heater hoses anyway, cheap insurance. Gonna do a backflush with the current hose and one of those prestone adapters i have laying around, then put the new hoses on - maybe do a shutoff valve for the heater core. Summer in AL is HOT!! Need all the help I can get.
