Parking brake cable routing

Wondering if someone has any pics of their parking brake cables. I have a 1977 K10 that came to me without the intermediate cable. Looking at the LMC catalog it is not clear what I need or where to attach the cable guides. In the pic below they indicate I need two of item 9 (LH & RH cable guides). But there is no listing for the guide #10. That is only listed as applicable for 2WD 3/4ton trucks. So if you only have 2 of the #9 guides, where do they attach and how does the cable route? Also, the picture in the GM service catalog looks exactly like the LMC pic, which leads me to believe I do need #10. Any help?

If I remember on my '79 K15 it had parts 9 & 10. #9 attaches to holes on the lower frame rail. I believe part #10 may have attached to the cross member at the transfer case. It equalizes the pressure from #6 as it pulls the cable tight. In the area of #2, the cable is close to perpendicular to the frame.

I wish i had seen this over the weekend when i had my rear out, i could have gotten you pics as my 78 has this same setup... they hook into the frame and the cable is routed just like the pic. The #9s hook into holes in the frame rail. I think but not positive that the #10 hooks into cross member.

Your lucky i like being helpfull... i laid down in the snow to get your info. My 78 2wd has the # 10 and 2 #9s. The 9s hook into the frame and the 10 goes from the cable over the trans x member to a goofy looking hole in the right side frame. Pics aint to good but best i could do.

@78C10BigTen I think the 4WD are different than the 2WD. My '79 K15 looked nothing like your pictures.

Ted - thanks for taking the time to snap the pics. I went ahead and ordered the #10 part from LMC along with the 2 - #9s. It was only a few bucks so I just ordered it. Will see if I can figure out which holes are which...

No problem man, i like to help as much as i can if i can.i know what its like to have no idea what your doing and asking for help, I just missed where it said k10. This is a great forum full of good knowledgable people.
