overhead console question

the local salvage yard has a squarebody suburban with an overhead console. It is wooden, and runs from right behind the rear view mirror back to the second row seats. IIRC it has map lights for both rows of seats. I've seen these in conversions - pretty sure it is aftermarket back in the day...
I want to get it for my suburban.
my question is how are those things fastened to the roof? is there a bracket screwed to the crossbars under the headliner? is there a wiring harness that goes to the stock overhead dome light?
if I pull it out, I'll get everything that goes with it-- just wondering what I'm getting myself in to.
if anyone has photos of something similar they have modified for CBs, storage, etc Id appreciate photos..

The factory console used a metal bracket that was rivited to the roof braces. Harness to the roof was the same. Console harness plugs in
