so a couple weeks ago I sold my 03 silvy and grabbed this 99 tahoe. Super clean body and about as solid as can be mechanically but has tons of miles. Plans are to get the interior up to snuff (carpet is trash and front seat leather has been eaten by the sun), do a few things to the exterior and drive it.

First major project is getting a third row in it as these didn’t come with a third row as an option. I’ve got a Burb seat and some brackets and I’m in the middle of that right now. Once this part is done new carpet goes in.

On to some subpar pics

Will you keep this one long enough to finish the seat install  Looks like a solid truck
 yes, definitely. I can’t promise how much longer after that but hopefully for a while. I like gmt400s a lot! Gmt800s have never really done anything for me and I got bored with the 03.

I like the 96 up GMT400's with the Vortec TreeFitty and the round dash instead of the square with the 2 pc stereo bs.

Yeah I prefer the 95 up too although my first gmt400 was a 94 and I learned to drive on a 92 Sierra so the 88-94 gmt400s give me good memories too :)

So when did the 3rd row become optional? '00? I guess I never realized that these didn't ever have a seat back there.

Optional in the early years of the gmt800. I don’t think the became standard equipment til like 03 or 04
