Retro fitting for his truck has been a nightmare lol. So I'm trying to install a new oil pressure gauge. But I can't get this thing off. Wtf is it and what tool do I need. None of my sockets will grab it.

Its just a pipe plug.
Did you try a 12 point socket?
Also when you find a close one just tap it on and loosen it up

There are sockets made for them if you can’t get vise grips on it.
You must be registered for see images attach

Yep, what he said^^^
It's just a square drive pipe plug. It's 1/8" NPT thread. The size of the square drive varies by manufacturer.

How about using a 3/8" or 1/2" deep socket ,with the square end on the plug, and turn it with a pipe wrench?

^^^^^^^or use the right Allen wrench in the end of said socket?^^^^
Male Allen socket back to square drive from the socket on the pipe plug is a solid reverse engineer to get it back to something you can us an impact on if it’s stuck stuck.

Is there an easier pipe plug to reach down by the oil filter to tap into the oil gallery? Maybe with a allen head, that you could remove and add a sensor?
