Off-road bumper ??

I ordered ORDs low profile bumper. Since I go snow wheeling I wanted a lighter weight bumper on the front. Bumper and the magnum doubler is supposed to be done around June 1. I've been waiting 8 weeks so far.

IMO make your own bumper. Bumper prices are ridiculous. The big a$$ get the eff out of my way bumpers are cool, but you don't want a bumper that will bend your frame instead of it.

I like the Iron Cross front bumper on my '06 Chevy. Looks like they do not list '73-'80. '81-'87 is available.

Which truck are you looking to install a bumper on, the '77 or the '86? Or both?

Plan on installing it on the 77, I like the look of round eyes with off road bumpers

DANG MAN!!! Down in the rut, I mean to tell ya'! I want to know how the hell did ya'll get that out of there??? That looks like one of those deals on the TV show "Highway to Hell" or something like that. It comes on the weather channel about these tow truck guys who work up in Oregon and they are always pulling out these semi's from off the road flipped over and stuff, laying on their sides in the ditch like yours! It takes two or three tow trucks to pull them over, then pull them out.

Aren't those military trucks with military bumpers on them? You built those bumpers? Did you use factory bumpers then modify them?

Is that just a post card thing or are you in that line? That is a beautiful scene. I can see going up that trail to a big log cabin on the side of the mountain, all warm and comfy, getin' to go Elk hunting in the morning. Sounds good to me. But knowing reality it would be a broke axle, or a busted transmission, or power steering pump, and more freezing cold working on the thing all night, no camp fire, no warm chic's to cozy up to, nooo nothing but "roughing it" up the side of a froze ass mountain broke down! Ahhh, four wheelin', isn't it fun?

One of the members in the local off-road club is a semi professional photographer so he loves taking all kinds of pics then posts downsized versions of them with his "stamp" on them. So yes- I'm in the blue truck in both those pics.

Normally no one breaks anything. Typically try to take it very easy on the throttle so you don't dig down- more typical someone might start overheating a bit then just throw snow against the radiator. Or getting stuck. But there are winches, traction boards, and shovels for that.

Here is a pic years ago taken at my brother-in-laws hunting cabin. It is one out of 5 of them scattered across a ranch he works at (he built all the cabins)

Were you stuck in that pic of you in the desert? I love the desert. Of course said by someone whose being in the desert equals about one hour. Driving to La. one year we stopped to climb this hill way out on the Arizona, New Mexico border. There were those big Seguaro cactus's and barrel cactus's, everything. I wish I could remember what the place was called. It was where the guy and his girlfriend I was with, had been there before and was right off I-10 highway. It was pure desert for sure but it wasn't like being out in it. But I still love the desert. I imagine with proper preparation, like you're talking about having the perfect deep desert Chevy, a vehicle that can make it no matter what, the desert would be a lot of fun and beauty.

I'm sure me talking about the desert coming from a Louisiana swamp boy I'm out of my element. But unless you've grown up in the swamp, the swamp sucks. Everything there wants to eat you from mosquito's as big as a bird, to the alligator's, poisonous plants, water moccasin's, quick sand, and if you turn around twice your lost. Forget that. I'll stay in town, thank you very much.
