i always used valvoline manual transmisson fluid in them or pennzoil syncromesh.

I went to autozone all they had was the pennzoil syncromesh but a lot of people say thats not what to use. The back of it has the gm and mopar part numbers on it though so idk. They looked up the gm number in computer and nothing guess I have to go to dealer or order online?

That's the same juice that Gear Vendors calls for in their ODs. At least when it's new it is nearly clear and not near as thick as 90wt.

That syncromesh is an additive, not a sythetic oil (it states its a Mineral oil right on the label) Syntorc is NOT the same and I don't think you can get it anymore.

Went to the Dodge dealer Friday looking for OEM fluid. They had 2 quarts. Said it was the last 2 they'll ever have ($26/qt) because a service bulletin was just released this month saying to use AFT+4 from now on. I believe him, he showed me the bulletin. So I wandered down the street to the GM dealership. They didn't have any in stock but could get the remaining supply but it was a 6 quart minimum at $33.49/qt. I guess the non-oem is the practical way to go now. They turned me on to TORCO brand fluid. Hadn't heard of it before?

Things must have changed in recent years with the name. Syncromesh did not used to be an additive, it was the trans fluid itself. It's what the dealer always sold me as the correct fluid, and other applications used it to, besides the 4500.

Synchromesh is not an additive it's a type of manual transmission fluid that's intended for use in the NV3500 among other manual gearboxes.

Valvoline Synchromesh oil is not the same thing as Castrol Syntorq LT.

AFAIK the NV4500 is the only transmission that uses Syntorq LT.

I worded my statement incorrectly. As stated, it is a type of fluid, not an additive, but it is not synthetic and not for the 4500. Sorry for the confusion.
