NV4500 question.

Good evening gentleman. I'm embarking on a a Deeetroit diesel 4-53T engine swap in my M1008/ K30. Question is will the NP208 directly bolt up to the NV4500? I'd rather not have to buy a $1500.00 205 if I don't have to.

Yeah, there's a guy Josh on YouTube that did it with a K20. I was hooked after I saw the entire 7 part build he posted. What a screamer. Lol.

Was that the blue truck with the gear splitter? I've seen one video several years ago.

Depends on what trans was originally mated to the 208. I have an 84 K10 that I did the auto to manual swap on (700R4 to NV4500). Had to change out the input shaft on the 208 to match the spline count (32 if I remember correctly) on the NV4500. Not a difficult job at all and gave me the opportunity to freshen things up in the T-case.

I put a 6bt cummins and nv4500 in my m1008. I used a gm nv4500 and the np208 bolted right up. I swapped the nv4500 first with 6.2 diesel before the cummins and the only modification was change the trans mount and cut a hole for the shifter. Even the stock driveshafts still worked.

Stock clutch pedal and master for an 85ish (make sure it's hydraulic not mechanical) and slave for same year as transmission worked great. Just have to make your own clutch line.

Yes, it will. I actually have a 205 and 208 and a 4500 sitting in my garage at the moment.
