O.k., did some digging.
The shifter is a hurst, standard hurst rebuild kit should take care of it.
The mounting bracket is unique gm. There is a difference between 2wd and 4wd, so make sure you get those if you buy one of these units.
From what I have read, the 2wd units are aluminum case with 27 sine output shafts
The 4wd are iron case with 32 spline output shafts.
I got my trans in. I have a shifter rebuild kit on the way. Guy named Nick has an excellent tutorial on youtube for that, I forget what his channel is called. Old gear head, he's forgotten more than we'll ever know.
The shifter "fingers" the rods attach to are unique to gm units, so don't lose them.
When I get my shifter straightened out I'm going into the trans to see what it looks like. Mine won't go into reverse.
Mopar used the cast iron units behind their 426 hemis way back when, so strength is not an issue.
There was an overdrive set of gears available for the mopars also.
The Mopar units had a couple of different 1st gear ratios available.
I will post up any issues I encounter as I get mine ready for service.
All the information I posted is what I have gotten off the web. If I encounter anything contrary I will be sure to correct it.
Never rebuilt a 4 speed before, this will be fun.
and remember, this is all worth exactly what you paid for it! Lol
