Not getting fuel to engine help

Hello I have a 1986 k20 and have done some body work to it but in order to be safe I had to take the fuel tank out and now that I have started to Put it together again the engine is now not getting any fuel but the pump is running can someone please help

I assume it's electric pump since you say it's running?

most would not be electric, on that year or so.

sock on the pump itself clogged or in the tank w/o electric pump? fuel filter clogged? inline anywheres or in the inlet of the carb?

carb plugged?

do you get fuel to the carb? pop a line off and see. lines hooked up right? maybe your feed is hooked to you return or something?

I put a funnel in the line from the gas tank to the pump and the gravity got the gas to the pump and then to the carb but when I put the line back on I got nothing agian

Fuel lines could be mixed up, or it isn't getting good ground, or contact with the hot wire to the pump.

My guess will be the problem is at the switching valve. Make sure you didn't kink any hoses at the valve. Then also get in the cab, and swith the tanks the other way, then back to where you want it.

yeah i just dropped one of my tanks. mayeb sure the power wire is back on the selector valve. and if you have a sending unit make sure its properly seated there too. also, make sure youre ground wire is reconnected to the frame, ( i took steel wool to the spot to ensure good ground)

double check everything, I always take a few minutes to get out my "work done" truck notebook to write down everything i do in order. makes it easier. and gives you time to crack open another frosty cold one, or, finish the warm one.
