Howdy!
I recently purchased an '85 GMC K10 short bed. 350 with a Holley 600, SM465 trans, 3/4 ton axles, EXTREMELY clean for an Ohio truck! I bought it from a local guy who has owned it since the mid 90's. Originally it was a 305/700R4, but the previous owner swapped the current engine/trans (from an '86 donor truck) back in 2009.
Here's one of the very few pics I have at the moment....
It has had a recent repaint, and still needs a cut and buff to get rid of the orange peel, but the truck is in very nice condition. I found the truck on facebook marketplace and was immediately attracted to it from the pictures alone. Once I read the description and learned that it was a 350 with a stick, I was extremely interested. And then once I saw the truck in person and took it for a drive, I knew I had to have it!
I've wanted a squarebody pickup for many years, but haven't had much luck finding one in my price range. Well I finally decided I need to get one now since they are only going up in value, and didn't want to wait any longer so I expanded my budget. This truck is DEFINITELY a keeper.
I'm far from an expert when it comes to these trucks, as I'm much more familiar with the GMT400 platform. Luckily for me, my brother happens to be none other than your forum moderator @bucket so I don't need to explain to you folks that I'm clearly in good hands with whatever help I need. And if any of you know my brother, you probably know that he has a ton of cool vehicles. Unfortunately for me, not only do I lack the mechanical knowledge/expertise that my brother has, but I also lack the space. The joys of living in a neighborhood with a single car garage are limiting to say the least.
That being said, I've had my fair share of cool vehicles over the years. Here's my other truck, an '89 K1500 with a TBI 350 and SM465....
And here's a handful of some other vehicles I've owned over the years....
Glad to be here!
