It actually looks like you skipped forward each terminal...I.e; 1 on 8, 8is on 4.....etc.

I just usually have someone stop when I felt the compression on my finger, then moved it the last inch or 2 by hand. The best and most accurate way to stab a dizzy IMO and as long as you feel that compression coming up out of the cylinder you know you're not 180 out. If by chance you are, just pull the dizzy and point the rotor toward what would be #6 plug and your right on the money.

Ok,myou said you confirmed power to the ignition module, have you confirmed power to the coil? Have you cranked it with the coil wire off?
Red wire from the coil to the dist is the one you want to check...in fact, just pullmthe pigtail off, and makemsure neither wire is broken. You said that you saw fuel spraying from the injectors, so the computer, and ign. module are working.

Did you confirm TDc with your finger in the spark plug hole?
Correct the wire routing on your cap?

yes the coil is getting power and yeah i confirmed TDC by putting my finger in the #1 spark plug hole, and re-ran the plug wires

i just re-checked power to the coil and it does have power at the larger gauge red wire and to the dist. the smaller gauge pink or red wire doesn't have power with the key in the "on" position or when the engine is turned, but i assume that wire brings power back to the ign. mod.

Can you snap a picture of the wires in question? Pink would normally be coil power from a key switch position.
At this point in my mind, everything else is working, I am suspiciouse of coil power.
Edit: Check the pink and black wire going from the coil to the dist while someone cranks the engine over. That is the positive wire for the coil. should have power with the key on, as well as in in start/crank.
I think we are getting close.

Ok, watch this guys!
if you have 2 straight pins, pierce both pink wires, and connect a wire between them, mthen try to start the engine.

Ok, so you are getting power in the large pink wire going to the gray plug, and no power to the small pink wire in the black plug, right?
