No resistance in reverse, drive feels like I'm pushing against the brakes

Yeah, so, put the truck in reverse and just at idle it rolls back like you'd suspect but going forward I have to tip into the throttle a bit and it feels like the brake is on. If I let off of throttle the truck comes to an immediate stop (low speed, only rolling up and down the driveway). Brake is released, but even if it were stuck or something it would have the same problem in reverse as forward, right?

Jack it up and spin tires freely.
If they all spin freely in neutral then check your rear diff out. I've had similar symptoms with failing spider gears.

Not near as much braking in reverse. Smaller front shoe and different material. Yes, jack it up and check for dragging or short drive and a heat gun. Be sure to check emergency brake cable movement. They will sometimes stick and apply the rear brakes.
