Newbie from South Dakota

I recently bought a 1984 GMC K1500 with a 350 motor. The pickup does run but needs some carb work and the previous owner had cut the vacuum lines. I am not a mechanic or body crafter by any means, so I will be looking for this site for guidance on future repairs, mods, or upgrades. I have been browsing the site for a few days and already found a lot of useful information. I only bought the pickup for hunting, messing around, and something for my son and I to play around with mechanically.

I look forward to seeing what we can turn this awesome pickup into!

I will get some pic's uploaded as soon as I can make it down to the Ranch.

Eagle Butte, would that be in the sturgis area ? I pass through there once in a while, if it is.

Correct, I am about 1.5 hours from Sturgis, SD. We rarely visit the Sturgis Rally because of the amount of people and traffic.

OK and YUP. thats the reason I quit going to Sturgis, during bike week, too.

Whenever I go to Grand Island, I make the turn at Murdo then head south from there.
