What's everyone think a 427 tall blocks worth I've had my eye on one for the past couple weeks buddy originally listed it for $1000 has 24000 kms on it but now he's dropped it to $750 worth it??? Then I just gotta find an nv4500 or maybe an nv6500

So on the fence now I see darts brought out a dual plane intake for the ls 8.1 what to do what to do lol I've seen plenty of 8.1's on kijiji anywhere from $1000 completely stock to $8000 for a 710hp/710 ft ins of torque combo what you all think???

I'd offer $650 on the 427 and consider it a steal if the seller goes for it.

So go the 427 route would the nv6500 hold up to it??? I'm rly on the fence I know the 427 has crazy lowend but at the same time I've seen and driven an 02 suburban with the 8.1 and 4:10's out back and would be pretty happy that route too I'm more leaning towards the 427 I think it'd be cool to have an old tall block powered 3+3

That's what I was thinking too. Have any idea what heads are on the 427?

Being that it's a truck motor, I still wouldn't be suprised if its also peanut port heads for lowend torque and pull power. Keep in mind, peanut ports aren't really as bad as people make them out to be, but it all depends on the purpose of the vehicle. Peanut Ports actually more power than big port heads below 3000rpm, but anything after about 3000rpm they run out of steam.

I'm thinking they're peanut port heads the block castings a 776 4 bolt main made 68-85 got the info from mortec, how would a set of patriot heads be on a motor like this, I read on an impala forum when I was digging around a guy can build a dec motor out of these for around $3200 I'm by no means an engine builder but for $3200 if this is true I like lol
