As the title asks, did GM use Spicer axle shafts on the 10 bolt front end from the factory or is that aftermarket only?
If anyone knows anything about it, it would be greatly appreciated. I couldn’t fine anything on the internet.
Thank you all in advance!

Spicer "parts" ? Yep, lots of them too.

Spicer = Dana so...

All of the '78-ish and older 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks, Blazers & Subs had Dana 44 axles.

All '77+ 1 ton trucks had a Dana 60 front axle.

All pick up dually trucks used a Dana 70HD rear axle.

Spicer also manufactures and/or distributes many other parts used on these trucks depending on the year and/or model - transfer cases, locking hubs, etc.

@Bextreme04 @nvrenuf

Thanks for the information. The truck had a lift and some other aftermarket stuff so I wasn’t sure what was stock on the axle

Post up what the truck is and we can tell you what would have been in it stock. We can also help identify what you have now, if needed.

It’s a 1991 3/4 ton suburban, 4x4

Edit: Are Moog parts stock?

As far as I know, Moog is just an aftermarket replacement parts brand.

Your front axle would be a GM 10 bolt which I believe is built by American Axle Manufacturing.

It must have been rebuilt in the past then. It’s got Moog ball joints and what looks to be brand new Timken bearings(there was brand new grease too)

If I’m not mistaken, the GM 10 bolt came with two different axle shaft inner gear spline count? Is one better than the other?

More spines is typically stronger, the higher 30 spline inner axles were in the last few years so you should have them.
