I was looking at USA-1 Industries site and saw they are now offering the correct style hood for 73-78 trucks. It has the correct peak design. $395.95.

I may need one of those if I pull the trigger on another project.
Do you know if the 79-80 will also fit a 78?
I noticed they have an extra crease by the bends on the side of the hood.

dang 400? I can buy a cowl hood for that price here locally.

I do see they keep claiming better tooling thicker metal on fenders and such.

Maybe I should wait? but I can't afford to pay double for the parts honestly

Can find OE fenders and k5 tailgates. Hard to find 70's hoods without the crease in the middle from the hinges.

Those aren't made anymore? I could have swore I priced an aftermarket one years ago.

Nope, my friend with the 75 K5 had bought one for his 87 like 3 years ago or so, then with this 75 it was cracked and shadily repaired by smacking it down with a ball peen and welding metal on top so we looked into getting a reproduction and no one has any available/list them.

73-75 K5 bedsides are also in the works, the owner of classic heartbeat sent a set of NOS sides in to have stamping dies made

What did I say, USA-1 Offers the Best Aftermarket - OEM parts there is although it takes them sometimes They do it the RIGHT WAY. Period.

You all have your own opinions but this is mine.

Just need them to offer cargo doors for 73-91 Suburbans cheaper than Goodmark, they have them but they are about $600 each

Im not arguing with you per say, just saying he doesn't have a monopoly on them. I sell this exact hood, an they are very nice quality. They are in for GM certification now. It is supplied by Key Parts. I know its a Key because his announcement of it was the same one I got from Key without their letter head. :D
