Hello everyone, my name is Brandon and I recently purchased this 1985 K20 from marketplace, walking into it I knew it needed quite a bit of work as it has been pieced together through the years. One advantage I do have, is knowing the previous owners and a lot the history.

Has a 350 TBI from an 89 K5, and a freshly rebuilt TH-400 (<10k miles) however someone really jacked up the wiring from the fuel pumps, so at this point I’m trying to decide if it’s worth fooling with or swap back to a carburetor. Cab corners and rockers have been done, but needs body work, a tailgate, and some direction of which I want to go as far as freshening it up or fully tearing down and redoing it.

I’ve been wanting a square body for many years, just never timed out right, and I’m not willing to give up my other money pits for someone who’s already fixed one of these up.

I’m looking forward to reading everyone’s posts and gathering ideas on how to move forward!

Welcome. What are you wanting to do with it, work truck, daily driver, show truck?
I dont have any experience with fuel injection wiring, but if you can get it straightened out, it might be worth keeping on there. How does it run?

I’m more looking to go with something to drive occasionally, still use it as a truck, but have something with daily driver quality paint. I’ve gotten quotes to have the bench reupholstered, new headliner, dash pad etc. I’m torn on putting suburban captains chairs in and a center console.

I have not heard it run, it’s a wiring nightmare from what the seller told me. It needs a starter, it ended up hanging trying to start it, but the motor turns free. I’m going to take it somewhere to see if they can sort it all out.

Cool truck. Great start. I would recommend as stated previously to this, making sure the engine is sound before starting interior work. You might need that $$ for the engine or potentially a new one. Maybe not, maybe your all set if so do whatever you need to, but please, post the progress, we love it!
