Well, I will not bore you with all of the details but last Thursday a "new to me" 71GMC long bed 3/4 ton pickup came my way. I was asked "will you buy it for X number of dollars?", so I said "well let me take a look at this great running/driving truck. I walked over to it, popped the hood and saw a factory big block with air, complete, everything in place, so I shut the hood and said "I'll take it".
Usually I would just work on cleaning it up and move it on down the road, but I have been buying and selling these old trucks and cars since the 70's and this it the first time I have ever popped the hood and found a complete factory big block truck that runs.
So, took it home, unloaded it in my backyard, where it can wait until I get my square on the road. Plan now is to keep it.
We'll see?

That's one sweet find! I have a 1/2 ton long bed 71, wish mine came with power brakes. Trying to stop when you get moving quick I'm standing on the pedal and white knuckling it, lol. Is that the 402?
