I just converted a K20 to a C10. It was a fair amount of work. I would not want to do it the other way around. Especially if you are trying to reuse the front crossmembers, they don't swap between frames. You can check out my build thread to give you an idea. Message me on there if you have more questions.

Me too. I have no desire to sell my K20 long bed so I might as well put the axles under the shortbed frame and sit the body on it. I will have to shorten the bed or get another bed when I get that far.

Thanks. Yeah about what I thought. Could be done, buy no sense in it as I already have a good K10 shortbed frame waiting to put back into service. Gonna end up with a pair of frames extra. One is a K10 & 1 a C20. both long beds. Probably end up cutting em up and hauling em to scrap.

I just read through your build. looks like you are almost there. Lotta work. I'm dead in the middle of a 78 C-10 build right now slammed on the ground. I call him "El Chapo" or "the shorty" for us gringos.

I've seen your build somewhere while lurking. There's always something to be done for sure. Good luck

Well, it's been a busy last fem months since I posted here last. Built the LS-1 and installed it and the rebuilt T-56. Cranking it on the final bodywork to get ready for paint. Decided it came out so nice it deserved a better painter than myself, so I flew out my buddy from Pennsylvania (runs a super high end restoration shop. Mostly European stuff) to shoot it for me. Hauled it to the rented booth last Friday and masked off the inside of the cab as it was already in color. Buddy flew in at 10:30 Friday night, bed by midnight. Saturday he prepped (to his standard) and shot the silver stripe (all covered except 1/4") first, then taped that off and shot the white side stripe and the roof. (finished about 8pm)Sunday morning taped off all the white and shot the buckskin tan color. After lunch, unmasked everything and shot the clear coats over everything. Came out great. little bit of dust bunnies as the booth I rented is an old booth. they do only tour busses at this shop. Went back Monday morning unmasked the inside of the cab, loaded it onto my trailer (carefully) and hauled it home. Have a guy coming this coming Saturday to cut and buff it to get out any dust/trash bunnies. Could not be happier with how the paint work came out. Without further ado meet El Chapo (the shorty) wearing his new suit of clothes.

And finally back home in the garage safe, sound, and air bags deflated.

Sorry guys (and gals?) I posted these progress pics in this thread by mistake. I meant to post them in my build thread. I have since noticed my mistake and also posted there.
