Yeah, and they keep going up in price. I looked at it for my Nova about 7-8 years ago and it was $280. A month later it was $350, then $450, and now $800. I still haven't ordered it yet. On the Nova it mounts behind the firewall for a clean look.
So true. I do remember those price jumps

So I talked to a rep today and was told that you CAN NOT use your factory column switch.
You need to use their switches and controls. Im gonna buy it anyways.

What abut the dash switches from the pre 84 models?

Those would work, but not column switches.

Sealing the wiper motor connector, removing the delay module, and replacing the motor fixed my wipers.

I think the issue with the factory switches is the factory speed and delay module.

Newport uses their own switches with the speed, dwell, and squirt switch built in.

The switch itself is pretty ugly and large, but the lever looks similar to stock. Instead of sliding left-right like the stock one did it just turns clockwise. The first 90* are the dwell settings, then a positive detect for low speed and a second one for high speed. Press the button straight in for washers and a three swipe of the wipers.

Newport sells a sheet metal bracket to mount their switch but it takes away the stock look. I broke apart my stock switch and built a sheet metal support behind it to carry the weight of the switch. I’ll retrofit an illumination LED behind the clear plastic face somehow.

ETA: I’d bet with some ingenuity and understanding of the Newport switch a column switch could be made to work.

I did the same. Still have slow working wipers. :happy160:

i thought 83 or 84 was the wiper motor and stalk change.. weird it says 85-87
1984 did move the switch to the column, but the washer pump stayed up on the wiper motor. That is the difference....
