The Full Float Rear End will NOT be a straight forward swap but the Motor, Trans and Tcase should, or just use your current Tcase.

yea the newer t-case aint gonna work it's got VSS or electric speedo and yours most likely doesn't. you'll need another t-case maybe the one you have now, or you'll need a speedo thing that's electric to cable etc.

I'd throw in the big block and leave my current trans and t-case. they'll bolt up, just make sure and use the big block flexplate/flywheel or buy one you need for the big block.

next question is if you are going carb like it most likely is now or using the tbi setup on the 93? I'd bet its tbi setup being 93 I could be wrong though.

tbi is gonna be more of a headache and hassle to make work in a non tbi truck.

carb would be simple. so I'll stop there and wait for more info.

As long as it's not a push button Tcase, can't the reluctor be removed and converted to manual odo? But still, even if not, He'd must need to find a NP241C or NP208 32 spline and should marry a 4L80-E. Or convert his current Tcase to 32 spline. I think he has to machine the bearing housing bigger, then install the bigger bearing and 32 spline female input and done.

I don't know the reason, but it's been said that you can't swap the t-case from cable to VSS or the other way around.

I think the bigger bearing for the 32 spline input only applies to the np205?

I thought that too, then there was someone on here that said just swap the reluctor wheel for a speedo gear. And I think that's the difference. I think the shafts are different to accomadate either the speedo gear or the wheel, but not both. It would be nice to know for sure. I've never tore one apart to pay attention to that.

current tranny/transfercase setup is a sm465 to a 208 tcase. id like the newer tranny just because of the overdrive.

I do believe you should have the right NP208 to fit that 4L80-E. You'll have the 32 spline IIRC. If you don't use that Tcase I know someone who will !!! On the back of an A833.

You can't swap to a cable driven output and eliminate the vss. The 4l80e requires a vss signal to control shifts.

True, so he'd have to use the later model Tcase anyway. So you're saying it's NOT physically possible to swap out the VSS driven or Gear driven on the output shafts?

Not saying it is not physically possible, just that doing so will render your trans useless, as it will not shift without a vss signal.

Yes in this case cuz of the 4L80-E and electronics. Someone said you change the reluctor wheel to a speedo drive gear. I'm just wondering if it's possible. If the output shaft doesn't have provisions for both, I don't see it possible. Maybe the provisons are the same. I dunno, but curious. I think I'll eventually have to tear a Tcase apart to find out. I do have some 4L60-E's I can disect too and find out.

Just for thought. I was telling someone in another thread, that Th400 has the speedo provision in the case, not the tailshaft. Makes me wonder if someone can keep their manual speedo in the dash, then use the VSS in the Tcase for the ECM signal. Would seem to work in my mind, but then a hole have to be drilled into the 4x4 output shaft I'd imagine for a keeper of the drive gear since 4x4 output shaft likely isn't drilled for it. Just another one of my stupid "Wonder If's"

Could run a cable speedo with an aftermarket VSS that goes inline with the cable.

I'm aware of that. In this case, I'm referring to using BOTH. Use the Case speedo drive for the speedo, use the Tcase VSS for the ECM signal.
