I'm aware of that. In this case, I'm referring to using BOTH. Use the Case speedo drive for the speedo, use the Tcase VSS for the ECM signal.

I don't follow. The tranny doesn't have a speedo provision, since there's no tail housing.

That's the whole point I'm making here, a Th400 DOES have the speedo provision in the case, NOT THE TAILSHAFT. If you use a Tcase on a Th400, then you need a block off plate for the speedo provision. So my point is, why not use both. If need be of course.

I think you can re clock them...the only problem would be the shift lever, if its not electric.

yes if it's a 93 it would be DS drop, BUT you can find a squarebody burb and get a PS drop VSS t-case.

Yep. Good Point. So you'd need to get an NP241C out of a VSS vehicle. I think that's 89 to 91.

Lol, it's my rebuilt th400 that's been sitting on the garage floor for a couple years. I had never noticed the plug there, even though I was just scooting it around the other day.

You can't clock a driver drop case enough to make it passenger drop... Fill and drain plugs would make getting the proper fluid level an issue... Then there is that whole vent in the top of the case thing.... A hole in the bottom of the case well make retaining any fluid hard, much less the proper level. :lol:

I do vaguely remember hearing about cruise control trucks having a vss built into the speedometer at one point, not sure what years that covers, orr if it is the right number of pulses.
