I have a 1984 1500 auto tran non tilt someone tried to steal my truck and destroyed my lock cylinder housing. they also pryed between the steering wheel and the housing and broke it up there also. They also destroyed the turn signal mechanisim directly under the steering wheel. all that said my 84 has wiper/washer control only in the turn signal. I know the 83 coloum is different. Ive located a steering column out of a 1986 w/auto will that work? I know they added additional features to the turn signal switch in later years could i install my old turn signal switch if they are different. Thanks for your help

I think the biggest difference between the 84 and 86 columns will be what transmission the trucks had.
The 84 K10 I have originally had a 700R4 so it's a 4 speed column.
The 86's I have seen are set up the same for the turn signal, wiper switch, etc but were 3 speed autos.
The detents in the column have a tendency to throw things off a bit for gear selection and the reverse/backup light switch.

Welcome from the PNW! Someone posted this in another thread. Seems like a good deal if in the lower 48 since i have seen them for double that on fleabay, Alaska might be expensive to ship to though.
