I’m new to the forum. I’m in South Central Idaho. I do not have experience working on square bodies or much mechanic experience period. I grew up driving a ‘74 Custom 10 all time 4 wheel drive. I let it go and have regretted it since. My grandpa bought it new and I was young and dumb.

I just bought a ‘76 K10 Scottsdale. It was originally an automatic. The transmission was swapped for a manual years ago. The spacing between the clutch pedal and brake pedal seems excessive to me, but I’m trying to go off of memory how my old ‘74 was. This rubber on the clutch pedal hits the dimmer switch. Any ideas why or how to fix the issue?

The clutch is stiff also. Maybe the spring just needs broken in? I have no idea.

Welcome to the site from NC. That pedal spacing is certainly weird. I'd drop the column a bit & see what's going on with those pedals for certain. Looks like a great truck to work with though.

and yeah that doesn't look right. Might not be the proper pedel assembly, or the spacer is in wrong.

Welcome! I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that when the truck was originally swapped, it still had the big auto brake pedal in it so someone custom bent that clutch pedal to clear. Can you crawl up underneath the dash and get some pictures of the pedal box?

If it all works just fine, you could pull that pedal out, heat it up and rebend it to a better position.

Thanks for the comments. After looking at it some more it does appear to be bent. I think I’ll try and heat it and bend it back. I’ll also try and get some pictures up under the dash.
