Welccome aboard. My vote, don't Cummins swap, it's getting harder and harder to find these trucks in one piece and not drastically changed from factory.

its relatively new to me - and I'm no expert on the subtle year over year changes in the square-body line up . . . it came from a one owner family. I bought it from the SIL and Daughter that had it up for sale after her father (original owner) passed. It was purchased with the sole intent of being a camper vehicle - came with a "Western Wilderness" camper that was with it since new - I separated the two for the first time since new. The family had owned a camper dealership, and the bench seats were replaced with flex steel captains up front and matching rear when new.

Cummins swaps are sweet if well executed, but I’d stick with what you have unless you plan on putting a lot of miles on it and are worried about fuel OR you need the torque that a built 12v can produce reliably/efficiently. Yes a BBC can be built to produce decent torque, but you’ll never get 1000lb/ft and MPGs.

That being said, I’d love to find a nice k30/3500 and Cummins/nv5600 swap it.

I really like the swept line dodges. The crew cabs are definitely cool.

OK - turns out the truck is a V3500 and is a TBI 1990. It has every bit of documentation since new now showing 47,600 on the ODO. The camper it came with is a 1980.
