New here, in the process of restoring an 81 K20. It has been in the family since new. Millage is unknown but probably in excess of 300k. Has had nearly every body panel replaced except the cab and hood and only has very light surface rust. Interior is junk from sitting since 2008. Going back to OEM stock where possible. Of course, needs paint. Have already inspected or replaced every drivetrain component. Figure the project will take a year to complete.
Also own an 85 loaded Silverado K20 that is in very nice original condition.
I have worked in the auto repair industry 30+years. Had my own business starting with a couple gas stations and worked at a couple very large private shops. Current Master tech and emissions certified. Experience in most domestic and some foreign areas. The truck pictured was my personal unit when in business. It will be brought back to life and only occasionally driven. It has had a hard life to this point, that will end.
