Hi there. I've been a long-time member on another forum since buying my truck in 2004 but just came upon this group recently. Glad to be here. I'm in the Fraser Valley area, east of Vancouver, BC Canada. I have a 1981 C10 2wd, shorty fleet that I bought in 2004. As the story goes, I wanted a weekend driver I could tinker with and my wife said before we have kids you better get one. So I got to shopping! I originally was hunting for a mid-80s stepside 2wd C10, preferably in white because when I was a kid and just getting into cars (born in '75), a local high school guy had a then-new white 86 stepper C10 2wd. It had the typical 80's mods like Cragar S/S mags, 295s in the back with a shackle lift kit and chrome side pipes. It looked just awesome and I wanted something really similar, but lowered. Anyway, I came across my bright yellow C10 but as a fleetside instead and got a good deal on it and had it ever since. It started like as a GMC but sometime around 99/2000 the owner did a resto on it and put a frame from a 73-80 under it and a number of other various-years parts and Chevy Silverado grille and trim from an 86-87 so its a bit of a mutt. I always like the 'euro' nose look on these so I put on a 1990 GMC grille (without emblems) and all new lights/lamps from LMC Truck along with a core support I got from a 89 Sub. I still have some Chevy emblems on it that I have been meaning to change to GMC but just haven't got there yet. It has a mild 350 that in 2008 I added a CompCamps Xtreme Energy 268H cam to it, Dart Iron Eagle heads and a 3.40 ratio Gov-lok rear end. The TH350 has a strong shift kit in it already. It goes decently enough but some more grunt would be nice. It looks pretty much how I bought it back then, with the Center Line Convo Pro mags, dropped a little and bright yellow paint, inside and out. I've put in Scat ProCar buckets in it and I'm into car audio so it has a mostly-vintage Alpine stereo in it. Here is a pic from a few years ago:
