Couple things here.

Those trans mounts are shot. Replacing those will give more clearance for the shaft.

The spacers don't belong between the frame and cross member. Yes, you can put them there to gain clearance, but that isn't their purpose. They are only there so GM could use a longer bolt. The longer bolt has more room to stretch and less chance of snapping off. If added clearance is the goal, making spacers (1 per side) out of 1x1 square tube will do the job and provide better support.

The drop kit they sell looks identical to the factory stuff. Kinda cheesy if you ask me

I agree, it's a little cheesy.

Also, if this was an np208 truck with an '85 or newer cross member, clearance wouldn't be as much of an issue. If all else fails, that is an option too, but it would require a different t-case adapter.

But new rubber mounts might resolve this.

Lol no biggie. Anyways no spacers on the top side of those bolts. Found a lowering kit which is just 4 steel bushings and also my transmission rubber mounts are mush so from what I’ve read on another forum that will help fix my issue. Can anyone confirm or deny that ? Thank y’all for the speedy and helpful pearls of wisdom.

Yes by replacing that mount it will raise the transfercase. Dropping the cross member will help too and aslo help with drive line angle as well. As far as mounts I’d do poly but only if your gonna do poly engine mounts too. You don’t want to mix and match or ***** gonna break mainly your transmission case. Mine are all solid but mine isn’t a daily trivet it’s a toy.

I've had General Grabbers on my truck and loved them. They got real good traction in Alaska, Northern CA, Nevada and Utah snow, CA, Nevada and AZ desert and everywhere else on boring dry or just wet pavement. Not a dealer. I went through a couple or 3 sets of Goodyear Wranglers too.
