How do you know when you have sufficient layers of cloth?

It gets more rigid with each layer. When you think it's sturdy enough it's most good to go.

Is there a reason why your running your amp bridged or is that just the picture?

This is probably a really stupid comment by me so bear with me and correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you wanted to run your amp bridge when possible for more output and more sound. Is that wrong?

NVM that'll the correct wiring for the front stage.

@Old77 It really depends on what your speakers can handle. In my case my amp supplies more than enough power non-bridged for my JBL components, but the channels for my sub will definitely be bridged to supply the most power at a 4 ohm load.

:waytogo: That makes sense! I was thinking of it powering the subs but I can see why you'd want it non-bridged for the components.

not all amps can handle being bridged. even if they can its not always worth it. distortion is raised and you only gain 3 db (which happens when power is doubled). i guess its worth it if you are an spl guy. i enjoy music not test tones but thats just me. admittedly the added distortion isnt necessarily audible but it does add stress/heat and can decrease the longevity of the amp.

Right! And this is more of a SQ setup. The whole SPL thing got old in my jeep. Ill be doing a 3 way active setup when $$$ permits.

How does it correct the wiring for the front stage? Wouldn't that make it mono?

All of my setups have been for balanced audio, not for competition style audio so forgive me if I'm thinking wrong.
