The cab of the black one looks extremely clean!!! I like! If I am ever fortunate enough to restore another square body it's definitely going to be a crew cab!! I want to take a 3+3 but make it a short bed:)

Nice Recipiant. Looks well worthy of a Cummins !!! :grd:

Today, I was pumping gas, and there was this sharp looking maroon lifted Jeep Wagoneer. I am not much of a Jeep fan and especially not a Wagoneer fan, I'd rather have a Burb anyday. But the hood was up on this thing to get a jump start, although I could not see it, big deal, its just a Wagoneer. Who wants to see that ugly motor. Then he fired it up. I knew instantly. I immediatly walked over to beat him shutting the hood. But to no avail. He had it closed by the time I got there. I said, That's no Jeep motor, that's a Cummins???. He said Yep sure is, I'ld let you take a look but I am in a big hurry. I just said, sounds great. He said Thanks and said it was a 92 Cummins. I told him I'd like to a Burb with a Cummins, he said just be sure to find a 93 or older so you don't have to deal with electronics. He took off and man it sounded great. I have to admit, I was a little jealous of that paticular Wagoneer.

I've got a few more pics that I will post shortly , the main hold up right now is the transmission is at the shop getting built. As far as electronics go , all 12 valve Cummins engines are mechanical all the way up to 98. The transmission is a little different , in 97 they went to a 47re, which requires me to get a stand alone controller for it to function ($800) and the speedo is another issue. The trans is electronic / has pulse generator , and no cable drive so I found a box that will turn the pulse into a cable drive . The nice thing is I get to keep the factory speedo. On a better note , the dodge "glider" is gone and I got enough out of it to buy more parts:rockit:

Its ridiculous those stand alone controllers are $800. Same issue if you want to run a GM 4L80-E. And I won't have a Dodge Auto trans. That's why IF I ever get up enough guts to do a Cummins swap, I intend to do a NV4500, which done rigth, should make several things easier in the conversion being that NV4500 is also used in GM trucks, so I'd hope the NV4500 could actually serve also as an adapter, using OEM GM from the rear of the bell housing back.

The dodge auto is a good trans , after you put 1500 dollars worth of parts in it , and the NV won't work for me , since the wife can't drive stick , (war dept.) if not for that , that would be my choice also, besides , to harness a built up cummins it's gonna take a 1500 dollar clutch , both of which is also rediculous.
I guess what it amounts to is if you like it , it's gonna cost ya'

Gonna' be an awesome build man. Keep it up. Yeah if I ever get a crewcab brick or a burb I'd love to dump a diesel in it, however my knowledge of 4 wheel drive and diesels is just about nil....

I am there with you GC. I have learned alot about the 4wd part the last year and a half of so, but very very little about diesel, but damn sure willing to learn and really wished I had started learning it long ago. As far as Cummins in SB, I know it can be done and I'd love to have one, but I am not much of fab guy. I am more intrigued by doing swaps that are not supposed to be able to be done, but use factory punched holes, mounts and parts. Example being, an Olds 455 in my 88 Burb. No fabbing necessary, no drilling, no mods. Get the right OEM parts and bolt it in and it appears it came from the factory just that way. Simplly by using engine frame mounts of a SB that once had the junky Olds 350 diesel. The holes are already punched in the frame. Bolt those mounts in, and there you go. Also still able to use the same crossmember and same Turbo 350 or 400 mount holes already punched in the frame, and same driveshaft even. Only differance is modifying the wiring harness to bring the starter to the driver side instead of passenger side.
