Thanks for the “Nice Truck” comments. I worked real hard on that project. It turned out to nice for me to drive so I just parked it in the garage. I am going to get it out now and drive it around. Here is a picture of the tailgate. Zoom in on it. Cheers.

We always like stories about someone else's restoration. Gives us "still working on" guys inspiration.

That is what a "mirror finish" looks like.
A lot of work to get there.

Looks like a mirror, holy smokes that's nice! Nothing like a nice black paintjob polished up to a mirror finish, good work

Thanks. Yes, we welded a skin on the back of the tailgate and relocated the handle to the inside. Here are a couple more pictures. If you take a picture in the garage you will see everything in the garage.

Hey. I have been looking for an active forum for the Square Body trucks. I
“finished“ my truck several years ago, but it’s really just been locked up in my garage every since. I did start it up this weekend and I want to get it out and drive it now. I have been tied up with a couple of other projects and work, so time has gotten away from me. I took it out in public a couple of times and won best 80-present truck at a small Autorama show and the top performer award at another small show. I want to get rid of my dual tanks and do a single tank in the rear. Anyway, I’m here now. Cheers.
Fixed it for you
