I just bought a '79 Silverado shortbed a few days ago. In pretty good overall shape other than a rusted out bed floor. Looking forward to making it mine...

Thanks. It's definitely a 20 footer! Previous owner had hauled seafood (or so the story goes) and the bed floor is rotten. A few rust through spots on the bed sides and a few bubbled areas on the front end. More or less par for the course on a nearly 40 year old truck.

Maybe you can find yourself another bed or even a rotting bed that you can cut patch panels out of and that still has a good floor for cheap.
