i got it for 800, Good deal? dont run good at all because of the good ol quadrajet...and i got a really bad leak from the valve covers it drips down and smokes on the exaust manifolds but could it drip all the way down to the oil pan? theres oil driping all around the pan but the oil pan gasket looks good i cant really tell since its soo dirty the guy that had it liked to mud and never wash it. Im in the SW part of the state

Yep you did good for $800. Yes, valve cover gaskets leaking bad enough and it sounds as if yours is, can get the all the way to the oil pan between the exhaust manifold runners. Sounds like a little TLC and you'd be in good shape. Qjet and Valve Covers, that minor issues that scare people into selling good trucks for $800. I even like the dreaded bad transmission gone bad so you can pick them up for $100-$500. That's what I've paid for all my squares. Best deal was $100 and it had $100 worth of gas in it, so pretty much a FREE truck. The most I paid was $500 for a 4x4 1/2 with a 10K mile crate motor but the 700r4 didn't have 3-4 gears.
