a buddy found a deal on 2 65 chevy c10 trucks 200 bucks each. so i went to look at them come to find out i knew the owner and got them for 150 each.

he took one i took the other but he picked up a running 67 c10 a couple days later and did not want the 65 anymore.

so i got both now i also picked up a trashed 71 k10

i am in the middle of taking the best 65 body and putting it on the 71 chassis.

i i tore down a 350 today put a new cam in it with a performer intake.

the truck will have a 350 4 speed 205 for its drivetrain.

6'' lift 33'' tires

this picture is not the truck but it is the look i am going for.
my 65 is also orange

Man I wish there was nice sheetmetal like that around here. Looks like the fender bottoms are even still there.

65 body on 71 chassis

building it with mostly spare parts i might have 500 to 1,000 in it to make a running driver out of it

i have a set of old school 15x10 vector wheels that i want to put on it with these tires

Man this project is looking good Kleedus. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Since you are using those badass vector wheels you can give me those crappy old bulletholes just so they don't waste any space at your house. :happy107:

so once again i have to many options and can not make up my mind

454 or 350 the 454 would require a body lift for firewall clearance the 350 needs no modifications to bolt in.

dana 44 and 12 bolt half tons with 15x10 vector wheels 33-12.50 tires

or 8 lug dana 44 and a 14 bolt 3/4 tons 16.5x9.75 slotted mag wheels 35-12.50 tires

4 speed/205 or turbo 350/205

i started off wanting to keep it simple half tons 33's and a 4 speed/205 cause i have that stuff laying around not being used. then i got to thinking i have a spare 454 turbo 350/205 and 3/4 tons as well.

the 454 takes a little shoe horning to make it fit and the 65 c10's have crappy radiators they are barely able to cool a small block. so it would need a better radiator and more work to use the 454. i am not sure i want to start another major project right now.

i could drop in a 350 4 speed and be driving it pretty quick and fairly cheap. it would be a fun driver parts chaser truck.

what do you guys think fun driver or over compicated toy truck
i have a major rebuild going on my crew cab and a mud truck and a all around 4x4 truck build as well.

Sounds to me that it would be best to stick the 350 in it. The 4 speed would be cool for a truck used to beat around town when you feel like it.

holy **** it is 2 oclock in the morning and i just finished converting the engine harnesses for this 65

i changed the wiring for the distributer from old school to hei

and went from an external voltage regulator to an internal voltage regulator

i changed up all the under hood wiring and cleared out all the wires that was not needed

i added a junktion block from a square body on the firewall

the wiring on these truck is as easy as it gets minimal wires
