Originally bought the truck because it had a BBC swap I wanted for my 69 Impala. C10 got the old Impala 350 SBC and sat for 4 years before I could get back to it. I'm trying to bring it back close to stock as far as the running gear goes and need some help to ID connectors.
I can't find the +BAT plug for the distributor. I'm using straight from the battery at the moment for general diagnosing but that will only get me so far.
Can someone help me with where the distributor power wire come out of the harness or firewall? All the candidates so far have not had current with the ignition on.
Harness appears to be unmodified.

On my 84 small block truck it comes out of the main harness behind the distributor and is I think a 10 gauge, pink or purple wire. I think it's pink but mine may be faded.

I’m almost certain it’s an orange wire. Yours will be hooked to a plug that has a wire going from the firewall by the passenger side valve cover. It’s the harness for esc but you can get rid of that if you are using a regular hei.

Found both. Will have a chance to put a meter on it and try again this weekend. Today's goal is getting it to move under it's own power.

It's an 85 model. Got it moving today but still no key + connector for the distributor. About to go through the fuses.

Found it. One more thing off the list. Now I have to figure out a throttle assembly.

Towards the front of the engine on top of the manifold. The harness routing isn't anywhere near correct at the moment.
